Moving into Stillness

Restorative Yoga Retreat
with Adelene Cheong and Lizzie Lasater
23-28 of June, 2019

A restorative yoga retreat is about time.
Giving yourself time to exhale.
Time to slow down and recharge your batteries.
How long has it been since you allowed yourself time to switch off?

More than a vacation, a restorative yoga retreat is an experience of anxiety free living.
It’s a place where you have the time and support to practice true self care.
Doesn't that sound good?

"A well organized retreat where you can move from unstructured stillness to structured stillness."

"This retreat at Santillan with Lizzie and Adelene really was a chance to move into stillness, to take some time out to stop, relax, deeply rest and just be. The location was amazing, the food was delicious, the view from both my room and the yoga studio were stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed my week and it was just what I needed to calm my body, mind and nervous system. So thank you to everyone who made this possible - the wonderful teachers and all of the fantastic staff at Santillan. I came back to London feeling very well rested and nourished, which is just what a retreat should do."

"I had a fantastic time on retreat with Lizzie and Adeline and would definitely go back. It was wonderfully restorative and a joyful experience."

"A week in a paradise. A gentle, but powerful transition from the hustle of everyday life to opening for the possibility of finding yourself once again. Knowledgeable teachers, safe environment, tranquility of the natural surroundings, great Spanish cuisine and much more."

"Ich kann es nur empfehlen, Ort und Yogalehrer harmonieren perfekt, es gibt ausreichend Platz um sich zurück zuziehen, es gibt keinen Zwang, ideal um seinen eigenen Rhythmus zu finden und zurück zufahren.

What is the daily rhythm on retreat?

The mornings are for meditation and movement: practicing active asana to open and prepare for stillness.

After a colorful vegetable-rich pescatarian Spanish lunch you have a few hours to yourself. Go for a walk, explore the area, read a book, take a nap, lie by the pool, daydream in the garden – anything that feeds your heart.

Optional restorative yoga teacher training sessions meet in the late afternoon. This is your place to ask questions and dive deeper into the techniques of this powerful practice. Additional fee applies.

The evening sessions are for everyone and devoted to support: practicing restorative yoga to move toward silence.

Paradoxically, by giving ourselves the gift of deep rest, we return to our lives with more energy for family, work and creativity.

What can I expect to learn on this retreat?

Every experience is different, but students often find restorative yoga retreats facilitate feelings of calm, clarity, and creativity.

Insights may include:

  • A new understanding that less is more.
  • Re-connecting with your personal center of gravity.
  • Spontaneous feelings of gratitude.
  • Teachers will come away ready to start teaching a few key restorative poses.
  • A new appreciation for the slower rhythms of Spanish time, the tastes of Spanish food, and the pleasure of savoring a glass of Spanish wine.

What is the retreat schedule?

  • Designed to encourage slowing down and feeling spacious with time.
  • Three sessions a day with instruction in meditation, active asana, and restorative yoga. Estimated 20 program hours.
  • Four Teacher Training sessions to explore some of the theory and technique behind restorative yoga.
  • One afternoon off to explore Malaga, hike to the beach, or simply lie by the pool.
  • Three delicious meals a day - lots of Spanish treats!
  • Open space each day for reading, swimming, journaling and naps.

Will all of the other students be super flexible-strong-skinny-yoga masters?

In a word, no.

We expect a group of bright humans who are curious to learn more about yoga and meditation.

Come ready to relax, find your own rhythm, nourish your sweet self, and laugh as much as possible. In short, come as you are.

I'm a yoga teacher, can I receive teacher training during the retreat?

Yes! Please join our optional teacher sessions to receive restorative training. Additional fee applies.

This 6 day, 5 night retreat is held at the very special Santillan Center, in Malaga Spain

Set in a secluded rural area, Santillan is an Andalusian paradise. It’s located in the countryside, surrounded by the silence of the mountain and with wonderful sea views.
A farm of 30,000 sq meters, it is located in the peace of the Spanish countryside, and yet is conveniently only 20 minutes from Malaga airport.

You will be treated to delicious, healthy and seasonal meals from the beginning of the retreat until breakfast on the final morning.

Ingredients are sourced locally from the on site gardens and chicken coop plus neighboring organic farms.

All dietary requirements will be catered to as part of this retreat. And remember, everything tastes better when grown under the Spanish sun!
